Welcome to the NWEA Developer Portal
Founded by educators nearly 40 years ago, NWEA™ is a global not-for-profit educational services organization known for our flagship interim assessment, Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). More than 7,400 partners in U.S. schools, districts, education agencies, and international schools trust us to offer pre-kindergarten through grade 12 assessments that accurately measure student growth and learning needs, professional development that fosters educators’ ability to accelerate student learning, and research that supports assessment validity and data interpretation.
NWEA is focused on delivering an API catalog that facilitates secure data sharing with Instructional Connections and other providers. For developers, this means getting access to our world-class data quickly, efficiently, and securely. Be sure to get an overview of our APIs before digging in.
Creating and Managing Apps
In order to access APIs, you'll need a registered Developer Portal account. If you or your company are not yet setup to do this, please contact our support team or reach out to your account representative. If your company has already been onboarded, register or log in to proceed.
Apps
All authentication and authorization for APIs is handled through apps. An app provides a Consumer Key and Consumer Secret for accessing NWEA APIs suited to your team's needs. Apps are created as part of the company onboarding process.
Companies
Developers from the same organization are grouped into a Company. Each Company will have at least one Company Administrator role identified in the onboarding process. The Company Administrator is responsible for inviting and managing developer accounts within their company. Apps can also be created for an entire company, providing access to the entire team. This is a good option if you expect to share development or testing responsibilities with other developers.
